Rates have been ultra low now for over 5 years...you cannot reasonably go long at all. What if you were faced with this rate environment as a 64 yr old 1st year retiree? Anyway as I said do what you want. I'm definitely not part of any herd on long term rates. They'll go up. But I've had clients sitting in money market for 5 years now making exactly ZERO waiting for that to happen.
