The biggest thing to me is the expiration of Bronco's contract. He doesn't have to get fired. He has to not be renewed. At BYU, that's no small distinction.
I suppose it's possible that Holmoe and the administration don't have any idea what the fanbase is thinking, and they're going to be fine with ever-smaller revenue from a program that struggles to put 8-win seasons on the board. But I think not, and I think essentially BYU has to be better than at least one other D1 program in Utah for Bronco to get a contract renewal. Heck, when he was hired, although BYU was a mess, it was still better than USU. Now it isn't. That doesn't suggest that he's done a great job as head coach, or even a job that demands a re-up of the contract.
If he doesn't beat USU, he's not getting renewed. I'm sticking by that prediction.
