When they can pay for it themselves, my kids can have one.
It is, however, my phone and subject to confiscation, search and it will be in my room at night to charge.
People may think that's overboard but I've seen some scary things kids do with their phones that I am just not taking chances. When they move out, that's when the cell phone is not subject to my rules.
