Bye bye. All these weird posts defending Howell need to stop. If the players are all lazy and don't know the system it's easy for me to blame someone. It's Howell that's not getting it done.
If an entire sales team isn't hitting quota you don't let the manager fire them all and replace them one by one. You look at your expectations again. If the expectations are reasonable, you can the manager. If the manager is pointing fingers at other people all day, you can him/her even faster because they don't get it. Part of management is getting your people to buy in to the program you are running. End of story.
The team looked lost against inferior competition. Preparation is an easy to understand expectation and it's reasonable.
I'm sure Howell is a nice guy. I think Doman is a great guy. Both were promoted too soon and everybody involved gets burned, because demotion isn't really an option in the world of coaching IMO. Coordinator is not a developmental position. If a coach isn't ready, they don't get years to ease into it.
