Playing BYU as an opponent every few seasons is not the same as ASSOCIATING with

BYU on a semi-permanent basis in a conference. Of course Stanford and Cal want to play BYU. It probably fires up their small fan bases to play a school like BYU that is so diametrically opposed to everything these schools' students believe in and aspire to be.

I think BYU's best chance at getting into a P5 is in the PAC12.
