Making up an assumption that Cal and Stanford will lead resistance is pretty obviously part of a Mormon persecution complex. There is no doubt that Prop 8 undermined the church's goodwill in California but the assumption here ignores the generations long history of Mormons attending and teaching at both schools and in serving in administrator jobs. My grandfather taught at Berkeley for some of his career and BYU alums teach at both schools today. UW's president is a BYU alumnus. Our AD came to us from coaching at Cal.

BYU has done a lot of things wrong to earn admission the last ten years. The only guaranteed no vote on admission however is Utah's.
