Not to take away from Roger's unquestionable coaching strengths, but
he was a terrible recruiter, & had a way of isolating himself in ways that Bronco doesn't even approach.
Furthermore, he lost his players on several occasions. Not just a few guys dissatisfied with their minutes--but his core players as well.
He also faced Majerus early, when Majerus was in the rebuilding phase of the Yewts program. When Reid took over, we were ahead of the Yewts. When he left we were clearly behind the Yewts, & the gap was widening fast.
