Lot's of good advice in this thread
I've run three marathons and many other races. One thing that really helped in my last marathon was stopping at EACH aid station and take in a gel/Gatorade/orange/banana. My pace during training was in the mid sevens and I was worried that stopping at the aid stations would significantly slow my pace. I found my overall pace was the same and I didn't have any issues with cramping, etc.
