I had a difficult time reading your post following your thoughts and spelling
You stated;

"one hand you say everyone should be aware of social media and has to use it..and then you cite how BYU has used it" Mangum is our next QB".. Whoops.. THAT would be stupid to say and if BYU has said such things then they are dufus's. Instead saying Mangum will be at BYU competing to be the next Great BYU QB,,,ir "Mangum, is excited to compete to show he is BYU's next great BYU QB" are much .."

1) If the coaches weren't showing the love, fans would be all over them, calling them "dufus's" (your word)

2) Players want to feel the love. This makes coaches jobs even harder. As a coach do you express what you suggested in your post about "competing for the QB job?" Knowing by doing so, you take the risk of losing Magnum? I am sure if given the chance, coaches from other schools would be showing him the love and expressing how he could step right in and start. BYU's coaches have seen Magnum in practice running their offense. In their opinion, there was not another QB available that was better than Magnum, Hoge or Hill. If that is the case, I would rather have the coaches use the additional scholarship for another position that has a higher need, which they did.

You spoke of competition.

"You sell competetion and that we are going to be good enough for our back ups to play."

Well, BYU has seen QBs not come or transfer due to the level of competition.

Hosick committed to BYU thinking that Hill would leave early for the NFL. This would place Hosick in the position of being the bridge between Hill and Magnum. Once it was known that Hill was not leaving early, Hosick started to look around and de-committed. Transfers: If you think Ammon and Kuresa do not understand or know of Magnum's skill sets, you are mistaken. I understand their reason for transferring - sit behind Taysom Hill and then behind Tanner Magnum, or go and play elsewhere as the starter? Players don't want to be back-ups, they want to be starting and playing. If they want to be a back-up, I don't want them! I want a fire in the belly.
