and you really can't blame BYU for not trusting that a move to the Big 12 would be better than independence at that time. Texas was set to bolt and take the power teams of the conference with it. Of course in hind-site it was obviously a mistake (if BYU really had a choice in the matter), but at the time it looked like the Big 12 was going the way of the WAC. I wonder what it was at the eleventh hour that made Texas change it's mind about going to the Pac..

Interesting also, that the Pac 12 was looking at Utah for a couple of years before. Freaking Urban...........
