She got cross-wise with our office manager and picked a fight with her.
To be fair, my office manager is halfway to batguano crazy and had a lot of what was said coming to her. But she wields an awful lot of power and has built up a lot of goodwill and leeway over the years. She has a lot of say in staff hires and retention.
Lose her support, and you lose your job.
If it were my decision, the office manager wouldn't be around, but it's not, so I deal.
