Consistently top 10 programs are sending multiple guys off both the O and D
to the NFL every single year. A KVN can't be so far and above the normal caliber of player for BYU.
I don't find it realistic to believe that BYU will ever raise the talent level by that much, even if they ever dumped $20 mil (current dollars) yearly on just the coaching staff.
Shoot, the closest we ever came to even being top 20 program most years was 1979 to 1985. Seven whole years. Not even a decade's worth of seasons. Other than that stretch of 7 seasons, simply being ranked has been a good year for BYU.
