When a pitcher throws the ball 99 mph toward a player's head, then gestures
toward his head as he yells at the opposing dugout, it's really hard to blame the umps.

As for the A's, they had multiple golden opportunities to charge the mound Saturday and Sunday, but never did. Few other teams in the majors would have maintained composure and not mix it up.

As for the Kazmir's HBP, do you really believe it was intentional? The A's only long reliever was unavailable after entering the game due to injury on Saturday. There was no way Kazmir was going to risk getting ejected in the first inning and completely scuttle the entire bullpen--especially when they are going to Anaheim tomorrow to play their in state rivals. And its not like Kazmir has a long history of beaning players, and he did immediately ask if Cain was okay (according to Cain).

The umpires clearly took the A's side on the field, and I'm pretty sure the Commissioners office will as well once suspensions are handed out.
