does need to be a little difficult to transfer to a new school. You don't want kids moving at will to another team just because a better opportunity pops up. This will negatively impact the continuity of their education, and it will make smaller teams just farm programs for larger schools. For example, BYU has spent some time developing Taysom and invested scholarship money in him. But this year Oregon needs a new QB, and Taysom is the best candidate to replace Mariota. It needs to be in Taysom's best interest to stay at BYU, unless the coaches decide to bench him or if something legitimate at the school is not right (i.e. conflicts with coach, players, school policy, etc).
I don't think you are saying this, I'm sure you were just meaning the spurned coach should have no say--to which I agree.
