that they guarantee those 4 games, and retain rights for a fifth game (which they claimed every year so far). Per game, ESPN is paying about what they would to televise BSU or any other MWC team. Those MWC teams don't get those guaranteed appearances, nor do they get to keep the money for themselves. That's BYU's advantage, rather than ESPN somehow overpaying for BYU games. They aren't. That's why I think we get a raise with our next deal, because there will be actual P5-level games on home schedule. Maybe the deal is altered to pay more when P5 teams visit LES, and keep the current pay scale for G5 teams. Something like that would make sense.
