I know the guy from Sony that was on that side of the situation (same guy who was incharge of the screens for the Dallas Cowboys stadium). He said that after they did the extensive structural study, the foundations at the end zone would have had to totally been redone and the cost was going to be many times more than what they thought. It was only because of the added weight but due to what could have happened with strong winds.

The original plan was to do the same size screens that Tennessee has.
