Star committed and couldn't qualify. Te'o had the "incident."
The Kruegers...I'll give you that. BYU should have been in the game for them and never were.
Star would have been a Coug if not for the rigid academics. The HC can't fix that. Te'o would have been a Coug if not for the Honor Code...and bad timing. The HC can't repeal the HC. Even kids who want to live well are intimidated by the Honor Code...and the 30,000 spies, phone cameras, and social media that makes every pecadillo a headline...only at BYU. BYU has some amazing things to sell...but that doesn't make it an easy sell...and it takes a kid with the right plans for the future to buy in.
