Why not? Negotiate for no exit fee and keep the ESPN deal.
Still get four P5 opponents OOC. Still play some exciting games across the country, play for the conference championship and NY6 golden ticket, and have options for bowl destinations.
If the P5 comes calling, we'll be available - but it isn't happening anytime soon and independence doesn't provide any real advantage to being P5 ready or worth.
