If UVU had been playing D1 Basketball back then Im sure they have the same deal. Im fine with BYU scheduling UVU but BYU cant afford to make it a home and home every year kind of thing. Maybe they could start rotating UVU and Weber but I doubt that happens.
You get around 8 slots for non-conference plus an invitational. Given the strength of schedule the WCC provides you cant schedule 4 of those games against in-state teams just to make UVU fans not feel picked on.
If BYU schedules UVU so they dont appear to be dodging them then of course they will have to schedule SUU so they dont appear to be dodging SUU. Now we have 5 non-conference games tied up with in-state.
