and hassle of children, they instead get a dog. They then proceed to treat their dogs just like children. I kid you not, but I have seen people here with full grown, healthy dogs in strollers and chest carriers like baby bjorns.
I own a dental office in town that is next door to an urgent care center. People needing to attend to the urgent care center have come in to my office with their dog and asked if they could leave the dog in our lobby while they are at the urgent care center. Uhhhh, h to the izzle no! Why won't the urgent care center allow a dog in there? Oh, because it's a health violation having your filthy dog in there? Then why would I as a dentist allow that if the dog isn't allowed in the urgent care center? Then proceeded to curse us out and call us dog haters.

Society needs to quit treating dogs and cats as children. Sorry, it's a "pet" peeve of mine these days.
