I'm not depressed because of our current WR; I'm depressed because - based on past results - there's really no point to being excited. That particular post was just one example; there were tons of posts from 2008-2010 talking about Jacobsen, Thompson, the Mathews brothers, Hoffman, Chambers, Hafoka, and Apo as this ridiculous group the likes of which we had never seen before. Out of those 8 guys, only two turned into really good players, one was solid at best, one had behavioral issues, and the others did basically nothing. That's not enough of a success rate to get us into the top 20 consistently.
Apo, Hafoka, Chambers, Marcus Mathews, Thompson, and Jacobsen all came to BYU with a lot more hype than Pearson and Juergens; you're only touting the guys we have now because you know in hindsight that those other guys didn't pan out. That's the mistake that depresses me.
