I think there is a definite reason that BYU and Nebraska are alone on ABC on the opening weekend. I totally agree with your post. I think that ESPN is setting the biggest stage possible for BYU on opening weekend to make a statement win. I think winning is crucial. Winning big games is crucial. Winning on opening weekend in Nebraska on the biggest stage is a big step in the right direction. This might be as hyperbole as it gets, but I think a bad lose on Sept. 5th could seriously damage BYU's hopes of P5 inclusion anytime soon. I'm not saying BYU needs to go undefeated to make a big statement this year, but I just have a feeling that BYU NEEDS to win at Nebraska so that BYU is at the forefront college football's mind to start the season.
