Wins vs Idaho and Idaho State, Weber State. Savanna State, UCON, UNLV, San Jose State,all ranked around 100 or worse, do far more harm than a close loss vs. Nebraska, Boise State., Michigan, UCLA,etc.

On one hand, we show that we can not compete vs any team in the top half of the 128 teams competing, while on the other hand, we show that we can not only compete, but put a scare in most any P5 team that we compete against.

Winning is not everything.

Politics is far more important to gaining access for us than beating up on extremely week teams.

The best political moves will get us accepted into a P5 conference while less than the best politics moves will be leaving us on the outside shouting :

“Not Fair” ; They don’t like Mormons”; "They hate BYU”; “They are prejudice against religious schools except for TCU and Baylor” “They don’t like our honor code”, or it’s because we won’t play on Sunday’s” . Oh, I almost forgot, it’s our contract with ESPN or maybe it’s our own BYUtv.” One thing for sure,. it’s not because of anything that we need to improve on, because we are too important and too good to do anything that offends others.
