Yes indeed,
Anything that BYU, Boise State, Memphis, Houston, Cincinnati, UCF. Bowling Green, Northern Illinois, Navy, or Utah State says that is negative or positive with any connection at all to the Big 12, will indeed, get back to the Big 12.
All teams above are G5 teams ranked in the top 64 except for # 65 Utah State which is close enough to be considered for P5 conference status.
Even #71 SDS and #75 Colorado State must be careful. They have been mentioned as consideration.
We have enough to worry about at our own University without worrying about anything negative, coming out of any of the said schools, but we must remain very very alert as to all the positive things coming out of any of the above schools.
A couple days ago UCF had enough positive coming from their school that lifted them from about 17% desirable to about 47% desirable within a couple hours,. as we sat by and did nothing. In fact, we have slipped from being a top contender to being a bottom contender among the top 5 being considered.
We use to think that we were #1 for on acceptance list of 5 teams, and now by most counts, we are #4 or 5 on the list.
It seems like we offended somebody badly with our remarks back in 2011. I don’t know who said it, or what was said, with authority to speak for the University, but we know for sure that someone did offend from BYU to the B12 during negotiations when we were the top consideration for the expansion of the Big 12, and now find ourselves at the bottom of those listed above among the top 5 contenders.
Big 12 has not yet gotten. They may be easing their displeasure with us, but they have not fully forgiven us. The consider us a high maintenance University. That is not good.
It is time for us to make amends, apologize deeply and very seriously, and make compromises that favor the Big 12 for the 6 year period.
We must be very careful regarding what negative things we say on this or on any other site, and we must also be aware, when we are not saying enough positive things on this or any other site regarding any conference that we are trying to get into.
