at any of these stores. They only sell to HVAC contractors. they can't give me any estimates on prices, since every guy will charge what he wants. I said you cant give me any type of estimate so I can have a clue. He says, I tell you what.. It will be less than $2000. Then he says he thinks I have a broken motor on top of just the capacitor. With the same info I gave everybody in the thread. This is going to cost me a fortune. Maybe I can just wait until winter...

obviously I need them more than then need me. The last two contractors conversation went something like this.

Me: explain situation
Them- well 75 bucks for us to just come out
Me: ok, how much for a capacitor
Them: well we don't know that you could have motor bad, capacitor, mumbo jumbo I didn't understand, but 4 or 5 different parts. Then quotes the capacitor at 175, new motor at 600, and a bunch of other things well into the $1500. Then to top it off, one guy says this.

Him: Want me to put you on my list? We are booked out until a week from this coming monday.
Me: what do you do for emergencies?
Him: these are all emergencies, its 103 degrees out, everybody needs to be cool.
Me. Ok I will call you back

obviously knows i need him more than he needs me
