I bet if you ask him he'd say it was time to go when he went. His last four years were okay; 6-5, 9-5, 8-4 and the miracle win over Utah to end 6-6. The team was no longer consistently beating it's rival, the Norm Chow situation, grumblings about the offense being predictable, etc., LE was not going to be fired but I think it wasn't as much fun for him there at the end.
