but if you really want to bring up the national title, then let's put it this way:
Since winning a national title in 1984, forever putting BYU on the college football map, BYU has averaged over 4 losses per season ever since. The name brand recognition, national award winners, ESPN exposure, and so forth that came from that 1984 title was only able to be leveraged to less than 9 wins per season for more years than the average CBer has been alive.
