I'll caveat this by saying I did not follow Elon a lick last year and have never seen EB play other than the 3-minute highlight clip someone posted. But some have speculated that his shooting % was unimpressive because he was often carrying the load of taking last-ditch shots at the end of possessions because the supporting cast around him wasn't very good. We saw Tyler Haws thrust into this mode quite a bit over the past couple years and it was clear that even a great overall shooter like him wasn't shooting a very high % when the onus was put on him to create something off the dribble by himself.
So, the wild card is whether being part of a better team will enable EB to take more high quality shots, and whether that translates into a higher shooting %. Part of Bartley's struggles seemed to be fitting into the flow of the offense. He often just looked out of sync. I for one am optimistic about EB fitting well into our system and thriving, but who knows. EB will have to prove that he really is a good shooter, but if he turns out to be a really good on-ball defender and/or assists guy I may be willing to put up with some mediocre shooting.
