Some people have bought into the Big 12 as a possibility for an invite b/c there is a decent possibility that the Big 12 expands soon. There is almost no hope that the PAC 12 expands any time soon. Plus, they already passed BYU over for Utah in the same TV market.

I think the PAC 12 is a much better option (includes our rival, closer geography, way better destinations), but even though I don't think the Big 12 offers BYU a spot, it's still a more realistic possibility for an invite than the PAC 12 from all indications--at least in the near future.
