Being charitable, we could use 4 out of 41 (10% rounded up (even MORE charity!!)) using just the OP if we want to maximize the misunderstanding pool. That means at least 90% did in fact understand the sentence in the proper light. That's pretty good comprehension by the masses.

In any event, we both can agree; misunderstandings happen. So just to clarify and finalize my post:

I believe BYU was/is an excellent fit with the PAC 12. Far better than the two backwater teams the PAC 10.2 added rather than BYU.

The PAC 10 did not pick BYU because of political stances at the time (those polar opposite stances remain today). The phrase "not a good fit" was used to mask the far uglier reason for their rejection.

There you have it. I hope those sentences are clearly understood.

I notice you have a GSW icon. The Warriors did OK this year. Infer what you will from that statement.

As for me; I was inferring (based on bay area common knowledge & NBA frame of reference) that the GSW's are WORLD CHAMPIONS and that my declarative GSW sentence is a sarcastic understatement (similar in sarcasm to my original post).
