I grew up in the Utah schools and most of my relatives...yes he has a better
% chance being out of state, but if he was in Utah his unweighted GPA would be close to 4.0 and with a 30+ he would be a shoo-in...
My older son went through Montgomery County, MD schools through his Junior year and then went to Timpview in Provo his senior year. Timpview grades were straight As with tons of retakes and extra credit available and he stated they were night and day easier than what he took in Maryland. Got him into BYU though.
Similar to my story...staight As in Utah, spent my senior year in Illinois. Classes were 5x as hard. Luckily I was already accepted to BYU with a full ride before my final grades were posted.
