Are they begging you for one?
If not, avoid it as long as possible. I rue the day my mother-in-law saw fit to surprise our 3 & 5 year old with a Wii for Christmas. Went from unaware to obsessed over night. Video games are a complete waste of time. Get 'em a pet rock.
