I totally hear you. One of my buds invited his fiancee to watch a game at my
place once. My wife was out, so I expected to be able to watch the game. Well, this fiancée would not shut up about this and that random crap. Cute girl + single guys = short attention span. I'm still annoyed about it.
I agree about setting up a social area FAR away from the TV. Set up snacks, drinks in the kitchen. Then you settle down smack in front of the TV, right among the guys. BE the bad host.
