But still at the end of the day, the NFLPA has been very good at getting these cases in front of pro-union judges. I know the NFL filed this in NY to try and avoid the NFLPA cherry-picking their judge, but they still ended up with a Clinton appointee who had it out for Goodell from the get-go.
We still think of our judicial system as impartial, but every time we see these high profile cases, there is always grand standing from the judge. I have never understood how it is acceptable for a judge to lecture and admonish. Why can't they just ask the salient questions and hand down their ruling? It always makes me cynical when there is an appearance of politics at play.
As for Roger Goodell, I had high hopes for him. He looked like a good choice. I liked his stated mission to protect the integrity of the league. Too bad he was so incompetent in the way he went about it.
