Serious question from a Ute Fan...
Because of contractual obligations, BYU will play in the Las Vegas Bowl at the end of the season, regardless of the outcome of its remaining games.
Utah on the other hand, is still technically in the running for a spot in the following bowl games.
Cotton Bowl (College Football Playoff semifinal)
Orange Bowl (College Football Playoff semifinal)
Rose
Alamo
Holiday
Foster Farms / San Francisco
Sun
Cactus
No bowl game at all
How does the BYU fan base remain interested in the remainder of the season, when the Cougars post season fate was essentially pre-determined before they ever took the field?
