Two suggestions
1. Find a way to check out the on-line site (functions and performance) of any potential candidate before you make the move.
2. During 22 years in the banking industry, I was frequently asked whether someone should change to my bank. My response was always the same - find a financial institution/branch where you can establish a personal relationship and feel comfortable doing business there as long as they have the products/services you require.
