can you scan ticket at the gate and then not board? Could this skirt the rule?
I am not saying I would try it but just curious if this could be a work around or something.
I actually thought about something like this once when I was close to 1K with United. One small flight could get me there...but I didn't want to go. I thought about $60 to buy a ticket, scan at gate, and then bail, just to get the extra miles and status. I still wonder if I could have pulled it off.
