I don't think it's a good idea---recruiting would never end and coaches would
poach off of each other incessantly.

Can you imagine Coach Whit continually recruiting our players after they are already here, trying to get them to flip to Utah? It'd be nuts, and would make developing a team chemistry horrible.

I think the current idea of making a player sit out a year (and they have a redshirt for a reason---even though some coaches burn them too quick) does well at limiting this poaching. Another idea might be to let a player transfer but without a scholarship for the first year---again some kind of penalty to keep it from happening. Or penalize the school he transfers to by docking them an extra, unused scholarship. If they really want the player, great---but we need something to make sure the recruiting pressure stops after letter of intent day and a player puts on his school's jersey.
