I think my problem is more with the logical disconnect.
City Creek = investment.
BYU Football = not an investment? The exposure that comes from football has a lot of appeal to people who may otherwise never look up the Church or anything related to it. Just seems odd to spend that much money investing in a mall (among other things) but not give that consideration to the team.
