I would argue that it's much more difficult to land a job in VC/PE out of...
undergrad than it is to land a Bulge Bracket IB Analyst role on Wallstreet. Most VC/PE Analysts land those types of roles after completing 2-3 years as an IB Analyst.
Who knows if he landed that internship simply because his name is Taysom Hill, or if this firm frequently brings in undergrads as interns. However, there's no way a VC/PE shop would give him an internship without him showing in some way that he was qualified to handle the workload.
