There are no simple solutions to complex problems.
People always want to assign the high cost of medical care to a single boogie man. Unfortunately that just isn't the way the real world works. Healthcare in this country is too expensive but it is that way for literally hundreds of reasons. You can't fix one of those reasons and expect dramatic change, no matter what that reason is. Ultimately, because of the complexity of the industry, the only real hope for dramatically lowered costs is systematic change. If after realizing that you still feel the need to pin blame on one particular cause, the best candidate is society. Until we learn to look at and utilize healthcare differently as a society, costs will not come down.
