if the rape victim is making sinful choices that lead up to the stage being set for the crime of rape, those sinful choices are still sins. And if said sins are repeated in the future, how does that help the rape victim on her (or his if the victim is male) path to salvation?

Again, it depends on the victim. Some will repent as a result of the horrific experience. Others won't and will need disciplinary action to spark the repentance process.

To put it another way: Does being raped change the victim's heart and desires? Not necessarily. And that doesn't take anything away from the victim. Being raped doesn't equal repentance. The first is a horrible crime and a horrific experience. The second is a process involving a change of heart, new habits, and new desires.
