either because I forgot they were there or because I underestimated the situation and they died then I really would not care what the law did to me. I would be inconsolable, probably suicidal and may request the death penalty. I seriously could not handle it. There is no punishment that the law could conceive of that would cause more suffering to me than the guilt and anguish that I would inflict upon myself. In short, in most cases I agree with you.
