Think about the bad snaps to Heaps and Nelson that lead to touchdowns. Those quick snaps were uncharacteristic of your center and might have been unlucky--or maybe it was because he was lined up against a future NFL d-lineman. For his size, Star Lotulelei was super quick and physical off the line and often just overpowered centers. He caused several other centers to rush what they were doing and to make mistakes. In fact, USC's center had two snaps (one went for a touchdown) similar to the bad snaps to Heaps and Nelson. Check out the first 1:20 of this video.

So, has BYU been unlucky? Maybe. Or maybe mistakes happen when a fast, physical defense makes an offense play faster than they are used to playing.
