This doesn't add up. I know that Texas is the big man on campus and OU assumes that it is right there with them. I further understand that the other members of the conference recognize that without Texas and OU they don't have a conference. They also understand that Texas and OU like their power and they would loss most of it if they were to leave for another conference. So the all powerful position of Texas and OU still has limits in the conference. There is no way that Texas was told that they could just pick whomever they wanted as long as OU, or whichever other school, gets the same privileged. That would be child's play, and I am assuming violate conference bylaws.
