I'm sure that 2 or 3 of the Big-12 schools would love to have another one that "owes" them. Those chits could come in handy at a later date.

I can see UT demanding to choose one, UH, to grease the skids for the proposed satellite campus near the Texas Medical Center.

I can see WVU demanding to choose one to guarantee a "travel partner".

I suspect that OU may have already committed to voting for expansion and thereby may have lost some leverage.

The rest are the "I'm with you guys" crowd that will go whichever way the wind is blowing so long as they keep their cash cow conference membership.

If the presidents of the Little-8 had some gonads, they would have stood up to UT and the LHN long ago. Once that happened, UT & OU both realized they could do pretty much whatever they wanted. Meantime, WVU continues to try to convince everyone (and themselves) that the really do belong in the Big12.

Nothing like a good ol' summer soap opera.
