First our AD is the best AD we've ever had..bar none. He's reshaped our AD to be on par with most P5 schools and then some...ISU had invested over $150mil in new facilities and it shows..Any way..I listened to that Podcast and it's typical Jamie P..I truly think nobody thought expansion in the AD world was on the table until ESPN told the ACC they would pony up for a Network..This really pissed off the Presidents of the Big 12 as ESPN and FOx has been telling the big 12 that a network for future conferences was not feasible..well it is for the ACC apparently..

It's not that our AD is opposed to expansion at all..He and everyone else believes that expansion prob gives ISU football the best chance at winning. Our AD however and I believe KSU AD and WV AD and prob KU AD all feel the same way in that if the conference expands awesome but if there is no new GOR extension then they will vote no on any team joining the conference. Every team in the conference will extend the GOR easily accept maybe TX and OU..this is the problem. So I see one of three scenarios..

1- Big 12 expands to 14 or 16 with no GOR extension and sees how things go TV ratings wise etc. over next 4-5 years and at that point if the additions are bringing value to the conference then expect a huge tv deal with extended GOR...or

2- Big 12 expands to 14 or 16 and ESPN and FOX have had input in the process and the conference brokers a deal with them saving the networks from having to pay out $1 billion over next 8 years that they didn't want to and a new TV is offered with an extended GOR thru 2032 in line with the end of the LHN...or

3- It's all been one bluff and there is no expansion and the Networks offer the big 12 a brand new TV deal with new GOR extended to 2032 that will pay the current 10 members in line with the BIG and possibly SEC or close to.

IN my view if it's scenerio 1 then we will not find out very soon IMO as there will be several no votes with no new GOR extension. All it takes is 3 no votes to block expansion.
