giving his opinion. There's not much of a question that the more the LGBT and BYU are in the news, the less of a chance we have that we can smooth things over with the big12 presidents. However, we also have no idea what's being done or said behind closed doors because nobody of any consequence is talking.
If the big12 had acted a month ago, everything would be just fine by now. They dragged their feet, and the LGBT stuff is getting another airing due to the student government resolutions. The resolutions themselves are almost meaningless, but any building of public sentiment isn't good for us. Thamel is now referring to us as toxic. TOXIC. So laughable, but here we are.
We can only hope that cooler heads prevail, that tweaks are made to the honor code and that the big12 presidents will be satisfied. Otherwise, we remain independent forever, most likely.
