Receiving 101. CATCH the freaking ball!!!
I was a receiver. If the ball hits your hands you have to catch it. Every receiver knows this. It is the most basic of all receiver lessons. Does it really make more sense to blame the QB for a ball you can catch and hits your hands, but you don't? I think there is a lot promise in our receiving corp but catching the ball (especially the difficult to catch ones) solves all kinds of problems for everyone.

Be realistic. Love Tanner and I'm not saying he wouldn't do a better job especially with a year under his belt, but if you go back and look at about a dozen of his biggest plays gone deep, they easily could have been interceptions but tall guys with great hands were making plays on the ball. Similar to the almost TD/out of bounds catch that Kurtz fought for in this last game. Not a great throw but not dissimilar from a bunch that Tanner made which turned out great. This one almost turned great too despite the poor placement.

A Qb can't always make a perfect throw and he and the wide receiver know that, but you trust the WR to make a play on the ball. Tips are inevitable if you don't catch the ball when it hits your hands. That is what we are seeing. That is the most basic part of their job. Could Taysom make it easier on them? YES, and he may be partly to blame. But ask almost any receiver at any level and 95% will tell you these ball should be caught unless a defender has a hand on the ball (good defense happened several times) or the WR is completely overthrown. You don't become a NCAA scholarship athlete because coaches are looking for guys that can receive a ball caught in the bread basket. CATCH the freaking ball!!!
