Wow - if you're complaining about the D in that game - your expectations are too high.
They gave up lots of yards - true, but not a ton of points. 14 possessions, 28 points. That's not bad at all against Boise - even without the turnovers.
But they directly scored 14 points. Gave the ball in position to score on the other 13. And frankly gave the ball in position to score at least another 10.
On top of that they gave the offense the ball back for a potential game winning drive with 2 mins on the clock.
That was an incredible game by the D. Perfect? No, but amazing. Give that defensive performance almost any other offense that Boise has played this year and Boise loses.
This is not our traditional bend but don't break D. Kalani promised a high risk high reward defense and that's what we're getting. Personally I would rather have a team score on me quickly rather than grind out a time killing, tiring, 15 play drive.
This game is on Taysom, penalties, decisions, injuries, and even refs if you want to go there - but it is NOT on the defense.
